PDF Form Field Validations Just Got Easier

After helping thousands of people to build PDF forms over the years, we got sick of writing JavaScript code to validate PDF form fields. Because of this we created a tool to do it for us – and we would like to offer this tool to all users of Adobe Acrobat for free.

The Advanced Acroform Toolset is a toolbar for Adobe Acrobat that includes tools that allow you to build better forms.

The hottest feature is the ability to create a form field and select a validation type. The tool writes the JavaScript automatically. If you can’t find the exact validation in the toolset, it is possible to insert a regular expression string to match the pattern you are looking for. If you google “regular expression” you will find many free websites that offer thousands of regular expression strings.

In addition, the tool allows the creation of Dropdownbox fields that can be set to required. Currently Acrobat does not facilitate the creation of Dropdownbox fields with blank values.

Also included with the tool is a Calendar Picker field. This helps you create a pop-up calendar for your date fields.
